Casa Dos Pilares was built in 1987 by an English builder and the present owners bought it from him in March 1998. It is a spacious country villa within it's own hectare plot. The area of Larga Vista/Foral is completely unspoilt and the villa enjoys outstanding views of the surrounding hills and countryside from the terrace.

The villa consists of 4 double bedrooms, 3 with double beds and one of these has an extra single bed and another has a sofa bed, together with one large twin bedded room. There are 3 bathrooms plus a WC/cloakroom, a large living/dining room, kitchen, upstairs sitting room, sun terrace, covered terrace, beautiful garden and lawns, swimming pool (which can be heated for a small charge), built in BBQ, pool bar, WC, shower, pool house and fruit orchard. The villa also has a log burning fire, digital TV, video and a music centre. The maid comes in two mornings a week and the garden is looked after.

The large sitting room faces South and East with sliding doors to a covered terrace with a table for outside dining. It has been furnished as a family home, the sitting area around the log burning fire and the TV, consisting of 2 three-seater sofas, a large armchair and wicker chairs. The dining area has a big pine table and 8 matching chairs. Another door off the living room leads to the kitchen which is fully equiped with a fridge/freezer, gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, hotplate etc. The new double bedroom upstairs has access the the sun terrace and therefore has wonderful views. It has a bathroom en-suite with 2 basins, bath, shower, WC etc. The large twin-bedded room upstairs is also en-suite and has a dressing room area as well. The upstairs living room has a sofa bed and a small table and chairs. The 2 large bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom (all have two basins) and a separate WC with basin is very close to these rooms.

All the rooms have new air conditioning/heating units which are very efficient. The house water is supplied by its own borehole as well as being on the mains. There is a large water tank with an immersion heater.

The garden has been carefully landscaped and has an abundance of flowers and shrubs. The orchard has oranges, lemons, grapefruit, tangarines, figs, plums and almonds. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any fruit that is ripe during their stay.

The pool complex is at the end of the garden up a tiled path. The pool can be heated if specifically requested (see above), has a cover and is a good size at 32' x 16' with curved steps at the shallow end. The pool house contains plenty of equipment including sunbeds, mattresses, lilos etc. There is a BBQ, a bar and a cold tray, a shower and a separate WC. The whole area can be lit and there are plenty of tables and chairs for excellent outdoor entertaining! Behind the pool complex is a short tennis/full badminton court.

Casa Dos Pilares has an English manager, Mrs. Jean Branscombe who lives at the end of the lane. She will be happy to deal with any queries or problems and will also arrange for a food parcel to be waiting on arrival (unless advised otherwise)

There are three very good local restaurants within a five minute drive from the villa.

The resort of ALBUFEIRA, a 25 minute drive way, has several big supermarkets, restaurants and beaches. Within a similar distance there are also many golf courses and more beaches. The new Algarve shopping complex with a huge Continente hypermarket is a 20 minute drive on E125 through Guia. The lively market town of MESSINES is about 10 kms to the North and the lovely old town of PADERNE is about 4 kms to the East.

Car hire can be easily arranged from the airport, or alternatively Budget in Albufeira know the villa and will deliver a car to the house.
